John A. Tomlin I, age 82, passed away Sunday March 19, 2017. Born to Alvin Tomlin I and Blanch (Lockwood) on May 19, 1934 in Conway Twp. John was a former proprietor of John Tomlin Excavating and Grading and had won several Livingston County Contractor of the Year awards. He also worked later for several years at Harmon Realty in Fowlerville. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years Dolores (Maycock). He was also preceded in the death of siblings; Alvin II, Arlene, Betty, Ellen, Emmitt, Gerald, Mac, Mike, and Theron. He is survived by son Lonny (Chrissy) Tomlin of Pinckney/Ft Myers, FL and son Roland Tomlin of Howell, and son John Tomlin II of Fowlerville. Also survived by grandchildren Amanda Maczik (Joel), Travis Tomlin (Kelly), Kyle Tomlin (Jennifer), Laura Tomlin (Cassidy) and great granddaughter Kimberly. He is also survived by his friend Alice Heim and two of his brothers; Merlin(Sharron) Tomlin of Manton, MI and Fred(Lois) Tomlin of Fowlerville, as well as many nieces and nephews.
John was a meticulous woodworker and an avid hunter and fisherman but most of his spare time was spent demonstrating and parading his antique tractor, a 1918 Moline Universal, around to various Tractor Shows and parades around the state. John was also a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church of Fowlerville.
