Virginia (Schrader) Wheat, 82 years old of Howell, Michigan passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, November 28, 2021 after a short illness. She was born on September 4, 1939 in Diana, West Virginia to Virgil and Edna (Hines) Schrader. Virginia was born at home and was the oldest of five children.
She moved to Michigan around 1964-65 and began employment at O & S Manufacturing in Whitmore Lake shortly thereafter where she met the love of her life, Lynn Wheat. They married on June 12, 1968 and moved to Howell soon after. They enjoyed thirty-three years of marriage together.
Virginia will be remembered by her family and friends who knew and loved her as a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all of her heart. She was a beautiful, hard-working, kind, loving, and inspiring woman who loved and stood fiercely by her family and protected those she loved. She was a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved her family and friends, and her family always came first.
She enjoyed many things in life, including working in her yard which was always well kept and beautiful. She loved her flowers, yellow roses were her favorite, and she was very good at landscaping. She would always receive compliments on how pretty her yard was. She had a beautiful singing voice and she loved writing gospel songs and singing them at church while playing her acoustic guitar, which gave her great joy. She enjoyed baking cookies, and especially making Kuchen, during the holidays. She also was a minister for a period of time.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lynn Wheat and son in law Robert Campbell. She will be greatly and dearly missed by her children, David Wheat of Howell, Michigan, Gary (Terry) Wheat of Houston, Texas, and Rhonda (Roy) Kinsey of Owosso, Michigan. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Joey Campbell, Ciara Campbell, Colette (Robert) Belcourt, and Robert Kinsey. In addition, she is survived by three beautiful great grandchildren Leighla, Asher, and Theodore.
