Robert Allen Hill

Robert (Bob) Allen Hill, Husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa passed away on
April 30, 2022. He was a resident of Salem Township, MI. Preceded by Janet his wife of
63 years. He is survived by their children; daughter Sally Simpson of Kingsport, TN,
daughter Judy Herald (Scott) of Gregory MI, son Robert Hill of Howell, MI,
grandchildren: Joshua Herald (Adrienne), Andrew Herald (Margaret), Scott Herald
(Lindsay), Michael Simpson (Brittany), Robert Hill, and Christian Hill, as well as 4 great-
grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter.
He enjoyed country living, local politics, dogs, especially Collies, cars, gardening, and
wine making.
For 47 years he worked for the telephone company in a variety of capacities; network
engineer, lineman, repair man, repair service supervisor, and with the 911 system.
Bob was a “life time member” of the Collie Club of America and Midwest Collie Club
(showing, breeding, Judge for obedience and on the governing board). He grew up in
Detroit, he built a house in Farmington, and then built a house in Salem Township. He
was a Cooley high graduate, class of 1952.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 3rd at 10 am, with the funeral at 11 am, it will be
held at Fowlerville First United Methodist Church, 201 South Second Street, Fowlerville
MI 48836. Bob will be laid to rest in Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit. In lieu of flowers
suggested donations may be made to the Fowlerville 1st UMC or St Joseph Mercy
Home Care & Hospice @ 34505 W 12 Mile Rd, Suite 100, Farmington Hills, MI 48331.
