Raymond and Judith Smith
After 62 years of marriage and partnership, Ray and Judy left this world together this weekend. Judy, age 80 died Thursday 11/25 followed by Ray, age 82 on Sunday 11/28 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Ray and Judy were teenage sweethearts who met through 4-H. They enjoyed a long life raising four children on the family farm located in Howell, MI. They both enjoyed being involved in the community and traveling. Both Ray and Judy ran three different 4-H clubs. They were involved in the Livingston County Farmers club, the Agricultural Society, the Historical Society, Saint Agnes Church, Knights of Columbus and the Michigan State Fair as well as every endeavour their children or grandchildren were involved in.
They spent many days and nights volunteering for horse shows, sporting events, and band concerts. Ray and Judy enjoyed a terrific marriage. Ray enjoyed working outside on the farm. He loved teaching moments and enjoyed the opportunity to show young people how things worked. Judy loved arts and crafts. She taught many classes on baking and sewing. She also loved gardening. Together the enjoyed traveling. They spent many weekends camping with the family and took many trips around the country. They loved meeting new people and spending time with old friends.
They were preceded in death by Judy’s sister, Rose and Raymond’s brother, Ron. They are survived by four children, five grandchildren, nine siblings and many nieces and nephews. Children: Cindy (Dave) Hroba, Gary (Dana) Smith, Jeanette Smith, Chris (Michelle) Smith. Grandchildren: Rebecca, Meghan, Brayden, MaKayla and Lucas Smith. Siblings: Walter (Susan) Cudnohufsky, Elaine (Dillard) Morris, Sharon (Bob) Finley, Fred (Jane) Cudnohufsky, Bill (Elizabeth) Cudnohufsky, JoAnn (Ed) Roulliard, Leon (Terry) Cudnohufsky, Theresa (Richard) Waters, and Donna (Ron) Smith.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Saint Agnes Church for Catholic Services. Services to be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 2nd at Saint Agnes Church in Fowlerville, MI. Viewing will be held before the ceremony at the church from 12:00pm -2:00 p.m.
