Mary Anne (Lang) Wallace

Mary Anne Wallace née Lang. B. June 24, 1936. D. August 23, 2021. Born to Lawrence and Lottie (Hoag). She was the eldest of 7 children and was the first to go to college in her family.  From a young age she helped raise her siblings and work the farm near the corner of Mason Road and Risch Roads. She was born in Fowlerville to a farming family where she lived in the same 6 square miles until she was 79. At that age, she moved to Chicago to help raise her great granddaughter, Gracie. She was a woman strong in her faith and believed that family came first. Mary Anne graduated from Fowlerville high in 1954 and went to Alma College for one year before returning home to raise a family and work at McPherson Hospital as a Librarian for over 25 years. Later in life, she worked for Howell public schools for almost a decade as a teacher’s assistant and on summer programs.  Mary Anne was a founding member of the Mason Road Baptist Church and part of the Fowlerville Bunko Club. She succumbed to multiple strokes and passed away in Chicago. Her husband, Colin, precedes her in death. She is to be buried next to him in Greenwood Cemetery. Her parents preceded her in death as did her brother, Robert. Ardis, Alice, Mildred, Shirley and Chuck, survive her. She is survived by her two sons, Brian and his wife Peggy, as well as Mark and his wife, Suzanne. Her grandchildren, Dr. Kristen Wright, Kai Morgan and his spouse Shivian, and Troy Wallace and his wife Jackie and one great grandchild, Gracie survive her. Services will be held at Herrmann Funeral home in Fowlerville, MI. Visitation on Monday, August 30th 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.  and Tuesday August 31st 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Funeral on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, 11:00 a.m.
