Marilyn Jean Bovee of Howell MI, age 84, passed away at home on April 5, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. She was surrounded by her loving husband of 64 years (Stuart) Tim Bovee and other family members. She is preceded in death by her son Mark, her parents, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her husband and four children, Lisa (Tim) Custy of Denver CO, Jane (Jim) Krueger of Saginaw MI, Michael Bovee of Howell, and Peter (Trish) Bovee of Wyandotte MI. Marilyn and Tim have six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and a combined total of nine great-grandchildren. Marilyn was born and raised in Detroit MI. Marilyn and Tim were married September 20, 1958 and lived in Detroit for several years as they began a family. In 1977, they moved their family to Howell. Upon moving to Howell Marilyn began a successful career in customer service with McPherson Bank and worked many years until her retirement in 2000. Marilyn always loved being with and around children and thus began a post-retirement job with Head Start as a teacher’s aide that she enjoyed for several years.
Marilyn and Tim enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends. In their younger days they enjoyed square dancing and would take the family square dance camping. The highlight of their retirement was the summer-long trip they made to Alaska. They also enjoyed houseboat trips in Canada and visits to Colorado to see their daughter and enjoy the scenery.
Marilyn’s son Michael expressed our love so very beautifully when he shared, “My mom is very peaceful and no more painful, and she's in the heaven now. We love my mom very much! Cuz she's very good mother, good wife for my dad, good grandmother, good great grandmother, good aunt, good cousin and good friends, a good catholic woman and very best friends all her life. I love my mother in my heart!”
Grandson Sam shared his heartfelt thoughts, “Today, my grandma Marilyn Bovee, peacefully passed away…She was and always will be loved by those close to her, and she always brought a smile to everyone’s face. I love you so much Grandma and will miss you always. ‘Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.’ – Psalm 116:15”
