Margaret Skym of Conway township went to be home with her Savior October 10, 2023. Born to Ernest & Ruth Reyhl on December 25, 1923. Margaret grew up as 1 of 8 children on a farm in Fowlerville. As a young woman living through the depression era, Margaret quickly learned the value of hard work and family. Margaret met her life long partner on a dance floor and from that moment on her dance card was filled. Clinton and Margaret were married for 75 years and were blessed with 4 children.
Margaret was preceded in death by her mother and father, husband Clinton and siblings, Arden Reyhl, Donald Reyhl, Stanley Reyhl, Richard Reyhl, Dortha Cornell and Charlotte Sherwood. Margaret is survived by her brother, Fred Reyhl, children Dennis Skym, Mary (Doug) Burnie, Lou Ann (Gerald) Roberts, Darlene Huck. Grandchildren, Kris (Frank)Benedetti, Jim (Tamarra) Burnie, Tracie (Frank) Fisher, Trisha (Matt) Bennett, Amanda (Matt) Lantz, Melissa (Eric) Cole and 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Margaret loved her family and you would always find her in the kitchen baking something or outside working in her flower garden. Margaret’s grandchildren will remember her fondly for always having home baked goodies for them.
One of her grandchildren mentioned that she was just 2 months shy of tuning 100 years old. The things that she had seen in her lifetime. When she was born , the Model T was just starting to bring cars to the masses .She went from that to seeing man walk on the moon. She lived a lot of life, and she always thanked the Lord for the blessings that He gave them.
Visitation and service will be held Friday, October 13, 2023 at St Johns Lutheran Church in Fowlerville. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 with service starting at 12:00. Private burial will follow at Antrim Cemetery.
