Julie Ann (Dunnigan) Blackburn

Julie Blackburn, aged 73, of Webberville, MI, peacefully passed away on November 11, 2023. She was born on December 23, 1949, in Manistee, MI, to the late Ernest and Leona Dunnigan. Julie was a cherished member of her community, known for her eccentricity and boundless love.  

Julie is survived by her loving son, Wesley Nims, and her adored granddaughters Nicole Harris (Garrett), and Alissa Huntzinger. She also leaves behind her beloved great grandchildren Kenadee Harris, Vada Harris, and Wade Grooms who were a constant source of support and companionship. She is also survived by sister, Patricia (Carl) Sinelli and numerous nieces and nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Dunnigan, her mother, Leona Dunnigan, her sister, Maureen Richards-Hathaway, and her sister, Karen (Lew) Raskey. 

Julie received her education at Kaleva High School and later continued her studies at Lansing Community College. She dedicated her professional life as a dental assistant, extending compassion and care to all those she served. 

Outside of her career, Julie found joy in various hobbies. She had a green thumb and delighted in the art of gardening and preserving nature's gifts through canning. The open road beckoned her, and she embraced the freedom of riding her motorcycle. Above all, Julie cherished the precious moments spent with her beloved family. 

Julie found solace and spiritual guidance at St. John's Lutheran Church in Fowlerville, MI. 

A memorial service to honor Julie's life will be held at the Williamston Eagles Club, with the date to be announced. In memory of Julie Blackburn, contributions can be made to Fowlerville Family Impact Center and Kennedy’s Closet (Webberville). 

Julie's warm presence, kind heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May she find eternal peace and rest in the embrace of her heavenly abode.
