Joseph Paul Nagaj

Age 78, passed away on April 27, 2022.  He was born in Detroit on May 22, 1943, son of Florian and Pauline Nagaj.  He was a resident of Fowlerville area for 48 years.  He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Laurene (Hayes), dearest children Paul (Amy), Adam (Stacy) , grandchildren Bryce, Avery and Taylor, brother Bob(Trudy), sister-in-law Rosita (wife of his late brother Jan).  Joe blended right in with Laurene’s large family and along with numerous nieces and nephews.  He enjoyed warm lasting relationships.  Joe always had a smile, and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren.  He enjoyed hiking, fishing, camping, golf, travel and working on anything with an engine, he was very capable and independent.  He retired from Livingston County Road Commission in 1998.  Although he had many health issues, he never lost sense of humor or stopped enjoying life and always carried on as well as he could.  Visitation is at Herrmann Funeral Home, 1005 W. Grand River, Fowlerville, MI. from 9:30 AM on May 2, 2022.  This will be followed by a service held at Herrmann Funeral Home beginning at 11 AM.  In lieu of flowers, do something that will bring pleasure to someone or to yourself – do it soon.  To those of you who knew him, thank you for being part of his well-lived life.  When you remember Joe, picture him surrounded by his cherished family or hiking on a beautiful wilderness trail smiling.
