John William Fritze

John W. Fritze, age 59 of Fowlerville, passed away on February 17, 2023. John William Fritze was born December 17, 1963 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Gene and Mary (Hildebrant) Fritze.  He grew up in Afton, Minnesota and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1982.  He loved spending time with family, hunting, fishing, grilling, woodworking, gardening and canning.  John loved watching sports; especially University of Michigan football, the Detroit Red Wings and he was a lifelong Vikings fan.  He is preceded in death by his mother Mary and brothers Terry, Tom and Kenny.  Also, preceded in death by Sue’s parents Fred and Pat VanGilder.  John is survived by the love of his life Sue (VanGilder), sons Joshua (Laura) and Jesse (Kelsey); grandchildren Amelia, Jack, Jesse and Kiley; father Gene; sister Brenda (Jim) Herrmann; brother and sister-in-laws Roger, Linda, Rick (Terry), Nancy (Mary) and Bob VanGilder; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends and his special fur babies Milly and Panzer.  

There will be a celebration of life for John to be announced at a later date.
