Jeaneen Reynolds Obituary

Jeaneen Reynolds passed away unexpectedly on Saturday November 21st. Jeaneen was an avid cyclist. She never missed an opportunity to get out on the bike, and delighted in bringing new cyclists into the sport. She was continually learning about the sport of cycling and worked to bring her bike to peak performance as well as improving her skills as a cyclist. She was a knowledgeable and patient mentor and teacher to many. She was a member of the Tri-County Bicycle Association, and her cycling friends were a great joy to her. Jeaneen loved animals and had a knack for communicating with them. She always said she would prefer to be outside working with animals than inside doing any domestic chore. She spent many hours in her youth working with horses and hanging out in the barn. As an adult, she bred, raised and trained dogs, and the family was never without animals in the house. Most of them strays or adopted pets. Jeaneen’s most recent housemate was Spike, a spunky Jack Russell Terrier that brought her great joy. She also enjoyed gardening and always seemed to have the most beautiful flowers with minimal effort. Her house and yard were the most beautiful on the block and she willingly shared her proliferous plants and flowers with others.  Jeaneen worked at Zeeb Animal Hospital for many years and has continued to assist the clinic with clerical tasks after her retirement. She has made many good friends during this time, especially Dr. Edie Kimball. Jeaneen is preceded in death by her parents Merlin and Marian Eggleston. Survived by two siblings, Vic Eggleston (Joyce), Suzette Horton (Dennis). Two children, Val Sloan (Mark), Clay Reynolds (Therese). Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Her kindness, mentoring, great listening ear, quick wit and sarcasm, and fierce independence will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers,  donations can be made to DALMAC (Dick Allen Lansing to Mackinaw bike ride) through the Tri-County Bicycle Association website www.biketcba.org and click on the DALMAC link or make checks payable to: DALMAC Fund and mail to: P.O. Box 22146, Lansing, Michigan 48909-2146.
