It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Douglas Elliott, who left this world on November 1, 2023, at the age of 54 after a courageous battle against cancer. He was born on May 29, 1969, and during his lifetime, Jim touched the hearts of many with his love and kindness.
Jim was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. His family was at the center of his world. He cherished every moment spent with them and was a source of unwavering support and love. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
Jim had a deep passion for Detroit sports. He had an unshakeable loyalty to the Detroit Lions, Redwings, and the Michigan State Spartans and his enthusiasm was infectious to all who shared his passion.
Jim was a dedicated and hardworking individual who approached every aspect of life with determination and commitment. His work ethic and perseverance inspired those around him, making him a respected figure in both his personal and professional life.
Above all else, Jim was a true family man. His love and devotion to his wife, Hope, his children, Austin and Cassie, his sisters, April and Monica, his mother, Teresa, and his father,James were unwavering. He was a pillar of strength and a source of unconditional love for his family. He valued the bonds of family above all else, and his legacy of love and togetherness will continue to shine in their hearts.
In addition to his immediate family, Jim is survived by numerous other family members and friends who were fortunate to have known him. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving husband, a dedicated father, a cherished son, a caring brother, a fun-loving uncle, and a dear friend.
Jim’s legacy is not just one of love and devotion but also one of inspiration and strength in the face of adversity. He leaves behind a lasting impact on the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
A viewing to pay your respects to Jim’s life will be held at Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville on Sunday, November 5th from 4-7pm. A church service will be held at Sonrise Church in Howell on Monday, November 6th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Michigan Humane Society or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jim's honor.
