Dwight “Jack” Hargrove passed away on Monday, January 27that the age of 73 with his family by his side following a long, courageous battle with COPD. He was preceded in death by his wife Susan (nee Miller) Hargrove and sister Mamie Surline. Jack is survived by his son Todd, daughter in-law Mary Lou, grandsons Collin and Matthew, sisters Peggy Keep-Anthony and Faye Hargrove, brothers Toney Hargrove and Jerry Hargrove. Jack was a devoted father, brother, “Little Papa”, and a true family-man. Jack was born on August 6, 1946 in Athens, Alabama. The family moved to Michigan when he was six years old, settling in Fowlerville where he graduated and eventually married his high school sweetheart Susan Miller with whom he spent nearly 42 years. Jack was a skilled and dedicated die maker for General Motors for 36 years.He enjoyed working in the vegetable and flower gardens around the house, walleye fishing on Lake Erie and spending time with his grandsons. Throughout Jack’s life, his greatest joy came from his family. A visitation and memorial will take place Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm at Herrmann Funeral Home, 1005 East Grand River Avenue, Fowlerville, MI 48836. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
