Dottie Palmerton Obituary

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Dottie Sue( Klender) Palmerton, 77, went to Heaven to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2022.

Dottie was the youngest child born to the late William and Dorine Klender of Howell, MI on September 15, 1945.  She spent her childhood helping on the family farm while attending Howell Public Schools. She remained on the farm until she met the man that God created just for her, Frederick Palmerton who survives her.

As told by Dottie, after meeting at a Johnny Theil’s teen dance, and four years of courting, Fred went to her while she was working on the farm, got down on one knee, and asked her to be his wife. On October 17, 1964, Dottie married her one true love. Their love continued for fifty-eight wonderful years. Fred and Dottie were blessed with two wonderful children, both of whom she was immensely proud of: Connie (Rob) McCallum and Frederick (fiancé Colleen Mazzola) Palmerton. Dottie’s family meant the world to her. Not only was she a devoted wife and mother, but she was also a special and fun-loving grandmother to Kristin, Justin, Bailey, Callie (Alex), Emalyn, Kayla, Calvin, and Brennan, and great grandma to seven.  She loved each one with her whole heart.

While running the family home, Dottie would also be seen at the family business, Fred’s Tire and Auto, in Fowlerville. To Dottie, it was more than just a business it was a place of fellowship. It was her caring soul, infectious laugh, and warm heart that allowed her totreat everyone who walked through the door as if she had known them forever and establish long lasting relationships. She was an incredibly strong Christian woman who touched the lives of many people with her words of wisdom and encouragement but most importantly her finding good in everyone she met and her generosity to help others. She was a helping hand to those in need, a step-in mother for many, or simply a shoulder to lean on when you needed a friend. She was a respected and loved member of her community and she will not be forgotten.

Again, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12

Above being a wife, mother, grandmother and business owner, Dottie was a devout and faithful servant to the Lord and was a beacon of light. Dottie spent every day praising God, preaching His word, and loving Jesus. Dottie loved the Lord more than anything in this world; and anyone who knew her knew this to be true.  She lived every day as a servant and child of God while using His teaching to touch the lives of everyone she met. Dottie showed her love for the Lord in many ways; she sang in the church choir, volunteered cleaning the church, helped in the food pantry, greeted people on Sunday mornings, and was always the first to volunteer at any opportunity in the church. Dottie, alongside her husband, spent many years volunteering at Christian Resources International. It was here that Dottie’s love for the Lord touched many people all over the world; including missionaries that they hosted in their home on numerous occasions.

Her family will continue to love her forever, miss her always, and will continuously be “making memories” in her honor. She will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, special sister (in laws) Glenda Heinz and Jane Mills, brothers Curt (Carol)and Bill (Sandy) Klender, many nieces and nephews and her special companion Cocoa.

She was preceded in her passing to Heaven by her parents, sisters Betty Griffin and Bonnie Nelson, special father-in-law Glenn Palmerton and special mother-in-law Eva Jean Palmerton.
