Doris Wiley (Sherwood) Cypher

Doris Wiley (Sherwood) Cypher, 94, of Fowlerville, Michigan passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 with her beloved caregivers by her side. Doris was born July 29, 1929 to the late JC Sherwood  and Vance (Purdy) Sherwood. In August, 1948 she married Clyde McGalliard with which she shared 4 children, Ronald, Debra, David and Randy.  After Clyde’s death, she found love again with John Cypher and remarried, enjoying nearly 30 years with him before his death in 2012.  Doris was a homemaker and reminisced often about her life with John, gardening, canning, fishing, tending to her flower beds and spending time together with family.  They were especially fond of their trips to burger night at DaShoe as well as a Sunday afternoon for an ice cold draft beer.   She will be remembered for her infectious smile and humor by all who loved her.  Doris had the unfortunate burden of the loss of her children over the course of her life and it affected her deeply.  With that loss, she was especially attentive to her grandchildren whom she cherished and established unique relationships with all of them.  Doris is survived by her grandchildren, Tina Lichfeldt (John Walker), Ronald McGalliard II (Heather), Stacy Recker, Jeff McGalliard, Jennifer Passmore, Crystal McGalliard, Nicole Norris (Mark), Joe McGalliard, John McGalliard, Jacob McGalliard and several great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her step son, Nelson Cypher and her sister Mary Alice Vidito.   A funeral service will be provided by Herrmann Funeral Home in Fowlerville, Michigan on Saturday, August 5, 2023.  Visitation will be at Herrmann Funeral Home from 12:00 pm to 12:45pm.  Graveside service will be at 1pm at Benjamin Cemetery in Fowlerville, Michigan.    To sign Doris’s guestbook, to leave a memory, or for more information or directions please visit www.pjherrmannfuneralhome.com.
