C. James Hall, age 79, passed away on February 19, 2022. Jim was born July 5, 1942, to Chester Hall and Lilah (Sweeten) Hall. He graduated from Fowlerville High School in 1960. Jim was a tireless and dedicated husband to Barb whom he married on August 31, 1963. He earned a degree from Northern Michigan University in 1964 and their first child, James Timothy “Tim”, was born in Marquette that same year. Jim and Barb moved down-state where Jim taught high school in Clarkston and then, Fowlerville. In 1967, Jim left teaching to become an agent for State Farm Insurance Co., serving the Fowlerville area. Kelley Joan, Jim and Barb’s second child, was born in 1968.

Jim was an avid golfer and meticulous in yard work, dispensing with whatever Lake Huron gave him to clean up since buying the house at the lake in 1991.  He enjoyed travelling with Barb on long vacations, most often to wherever Tim and Kelley were living at the time. Jim and Barb were active members of the St. Agnes parish community until his retirement to Au Gres, Michigan, where they attended St. Mark’s Catholic Church. Jim retired from State Farm in 2009 after 42 years.

Jim was active in the local business community and passionately advocated economic development and small businesses in Fowlerville and Livingston County. Over the years he served as a founding member, chairperson, or president of multiple boards and organizations including the Livingston County Economic Development Council, the Fowlerville Village Planning Commission, the Fowlerville Commercial Club, the Fowlerville Downtown Development Authority, and the Fowlerville Local Development Finance Authority. Jim was also a Rotarian and past treasurer of the Fowlerville Fair Board and Agricultural Society. Jim was instrumental in acquiring several grants and local funding that brought several manufacturing companies to the Fowlerville area. Jim’s vision and efforts led the way in medical facility and condominium (Addison Farms) development in Fowlerville.

Jim was a strong and reliable husband, father, son, brother, and community leader.
