Rita (Peterson) Lewis

Rita, age 89 passed away February 25, 2018 in Haslett.  She was the daughter of Reinhold and Hulda Peterson and was born in Fowlerville on October 13, 1928.  Rita was a long time resident of Fowlerville and member of St. John's Lutheran Church.  Most recently she resided at Brookdale Meridian Assisted Living.  Rita retired from the State of Michigan in 1990 and after retirement she enjoyed playing bingo and spending time at Elbow Lake.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin and son Randy.  She was also predeceased by brother Arthur and sisters Viola Swan and Betty Douglass.  She is survived by sons Melvin (Karman) and Ritchie (Wendy); two granddaughters, Amy (Dan) Sanborn and Amber (Joe) Rozycki; and four great grandchildren, Taylor and Cade Sanborn and Elle and Brody Rozycki.  Also surviving is her twin sister, Nita Church.
