Welcome to the memorial page for

Chad Nicholas Jolliff

September 3, 1997 ~ July 24, 2016 (age 18) 18 Years Old

Chad Nicholas Jolliff was granted his angel wings on July 24, 2016 following a life long battle with cerebral palsy. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Chad had touched in some small way throughout his short, yet very memorable life.

Chad’s life would seem too short to many, but those who knew and loved him understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. His gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around him and though he never spoke a word, his voice and thoughts could always be heard.  He could light up a room with his sounds of happiness and that beautiful smile. He gave us so much more than we could have ever imagined.

Although his disabilities made Chad appear frail, he possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With his grace he led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. He could spend hours laughing at us folding laundry or cuddling close to those he loved so much. He enjoyed music, riding in the van, being at school and floating in the pool.  He loved balloons and watching his brothers wrestle while feeling the vibration of the shaking house.

With Chad’s passing we remind others that his life is one to be celebrated. Although we will miss him every day, especially his smile, he will forever remain in our hearts. Through his teachings about life, love and appreciating the small things, we were able to create wonderful memories and it has been a privilege to be his parents.

Chad leaves behind many wonderful caregivers that provided love and support that enhanced his quality of life. Chad’s love extends to his wonderful family, nurses and teachers and our very dear friend Bobby Jo, who has a special place in her heart for him. Because of their continual dedication, love and support, Chad was able to survive some of his toughest medical challenges. He will be dearly missed by many people, too numerous to mention, who provided Chad with love and dignity in his life and also in his death.

Chad is survived by his loving parents, Greg and Shari Jolliff; brothers Gregory (Marcy), Kevin and Adam Jolliff; nephew Gregory III and niece Gracie Mae Jolliff of Fowlerville Michigan; maternal grandparents David and Peggy Davis of Fowlerville Michigan; paternal grandparents Bob and Claudia Jolliff of Howell Michigan along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his brother Brent Adam Jolliff; his aunt Lisa Claudette Jolliff and cousin Steven Michael Jolliff .
