Daniel Mark Weeks

Daniel Mark Weeks, 65, passed away peacefully at his home in Howell, Michigan on May 10, 2017.

Dan was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 15, 1952.  He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970 where he excelled in wrestling, football, and baseball.  Immediately after graduation he joined the Warren Police Department.  In 1974, Dan transferred to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department.  After serving for a short period as a correctional officer, Dan spent the remainder of his twenty-five years with the Department as a deputy sheriff, serving on the SWAT team and in various undercover positions; including several years with a Wayne-Macomb Joint Task Force known as W-MAC.  Dan retired from law enforcement in 1999 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends. Dan was also active in local politics during his career.

Dan is survived by his mother, Phyllis Pedde; children, Debbie Sabo, Matthew (Erin) Weeks, Mark (Mary) Weeks, Michael (Meghan) Weeks, Bryan (Amy) Dixon, and Todd (Joelle) Smith; his brothers and sisters Don Weeks, Peter (Denise) Weeks, Jim (Kim) Weeks, Dennis (Mary Ann) Pedde, and Marilyn (Tom) Flanigan; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and the rest of his family and friends.

Dan is predeceased by his father, Lloyd “Pete” Weeks; stepfather, Al Pedde; son, Adam Smith; and sister, Tammy Weeks. 

Visitation will be held at Fowlerville Church of the Nazarene, 8040 Country Corner Drive, Fowlerville, Michigan, 48836 on Sunday, May 14, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 10:00AM until 12:00 noon.   The funeral service will be held at the church immediately following visitation on Monday.  Pastor Gary Griffin will be officiating.  Family and friends are welcome to a reception at the church following the funeral service.
